About Josh Avera
Avera has peformed alongside and opened for some of world's best DJ's/Producers including Donald Glaude, Charlie May(Renaissance, Sony), Kazell(Avalon LA), Nomad In the Dark (Armada, Audio Therapy), Thee-O, Frances, Rabbit in the Moon, Soha(Ministry of Sound, Ultra), Bandit(Stripped Music Club UK), Fei-Fei(Armada), Thomas Sagstad(Ministry of Sound,Global Underground), Mark Farina(OM), Andy Duguid(GU), Thomas Penton(GU), Gabe Lukosz(Jigsaw), Michael Badal(Jigsaw), as well as Grammy Award Winner and MTV music awards DJ/Producer Jay-J Hernandez(Shifted, Defected, Sony).
Other renowned DJ's he has performed with include John Howard (OM), Martin Accorsi (Berlin, Germany Nervous NYC), Chriss Vargass (Pacha NYC). Major local San Diego based DJ's he has played along with include Don Santino, Zak J, Dadon, IDeaL, Riley Warren, Wutam and J-Break, Cowboy Mike, Shane Baker, Sharky, Alan B., Anthony Ross, and Zachary Zamparria. Josh's DJ career started in his teens when he discovered a deep appreciation for music of all types and purchased his first set of turntables at the age of 19. With a musical background, he started playing the piano at an early age and brought that knowledge and skill into DJ'ing a vast array of music. Shortly there after he started producing music and started his own production group named "Auxillary Assault" with popular tracks such as "Electric Sheep". Later on he joined the popular North Carolina based electronic band "The Midnight Foundation".
Avera also recently was the featured Guest DJ on Los Angeles Radio Station/Podcast Party 107 during their weekly "Transmissions" show with well known DJ/Host Daniel Minaya(GIANT). He has been invited to and played in front of packed crowds at some of the best clubs/venues the US has to offer, such as Spin (San Diego), Sway/Merk (San Diego), The Office (San Diego), AC Lounge (San Diego), Sidebar (San Diego), Brixton (Los Angeles), Clique (Cincinnati, OH), Nashwa (North Carolina's largest club), Basic (San Diego), Fleetwood (San Diego). Avera also DJ'ed actor Robert Duvall's Private Party at the Asheville Film Festival in 2008, Earthdance 2009, Comic-Con 2009, EVOLVE NYE 2010 and various other events/festivals. Avera has been invited to play/attend Winter Music Conference in Miami, FL in March of 2010.
